The Mary & Sheila McGinty Piano Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who excels in piano and plans to pursue further study, either in piano performance, music education, music therapy, or another related musical field of study. The student must be a native of Oneida, Herkimer, or Madison County, but may be attending college anywhere.

The 2024 Application is OPEN!

The application is due 11:59 PM June 15, 2024. 

The winner will be notified by July 1, and will be publicly recognized at the 

B Sharp Summer Concert  on July 8 @ 6:00 PM at Grace Episcopal Church, Utica, NY.

Please complete the following steps before beginning the application:

1. Obtain the permission and the contact information (email and phone) of a music teacher or another arts-related professional who is willing to be contacted as a reference on your behalf. 

2. Write a brief (400 words or less) written response about your future musical plans that you can copy into this application. 

3. Record a 3-5 minute performance video of your choice of classical repertoire.  You may record 1 entire piece, an excerpt from a large work, or a set of short pieces. Do not exceed 5 total minutes of music.  You may upload the video to YouTube, Vimeo, Dropbox, Google Drive, or any other cloud service of your choice and provide the link in this application.
